Dennis Kucinich Once Again Speaks Out Against Iraq War
“Iraq did not have weapons of mass destruction, had no intention or capability of attacking United States, had nothing to do with Al-Qaida’s role in 9/11, and each and every statement made by the previous administration in support of going to war turned out to be false.
“Yet here we are. A new administration and the same old war, with an expansion of the war in Afghanistan. We cannot afford these wars. We cannot afford these wars spiritually. They are wars of aggression and they are based on lies. We cannot afford these wars financially. They add trillions to our national debt and destroy our domestic agenda. We cannot afford the human cost of these wars, the loss of lives of our beloved troops and the deaths of innocent civilians in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. So, why do we do this? Why do we keep funding wars when they are so obviously against truth and justice and when they undermine our military? These are matters of heart and conscience, which must be explored. Our ability to bring an end to these wars will be the real test of our power.”

“Sudden in-custody death” does not have a formal medical definition. But the general term “sudden death” is used medically to describe the rapid, unexpected death of an individual within 24 hours of the onset of symptoms. It follows then that sudden in-custody death refers to rapid, unexpected death during detention of individuals by law enforcement or public safety personnel. This term comprises the vast majority of “arrest-related” deaths (the preferred term in criminology literature) which include the fairly rare fatal police shootings [1].

Chen Guangcheng, a self-trained legal advocate who tried in June 2005 to investigate reports that officials in Linyi city, Shandong province, had subjected thousands of people to forced abortions, beatings, and compulsory sterilization in order to meet population control targets. Although central government officials agreed that the officials used illegal means, authorities rejected the class-action lawsuit Chen tried to file. Chen was tried on August 24, 2006, and sentenced to four years and three months for “intentional destruction of property” and “gathering people to disturb traffic order.” Chen, who is blind, has reportedly been severely beaten in jail and has gone on a hunger strike to protest the beatings. He is serving his sentence in Linyi Prison.

A superb documentary tells the true and intriguing story of the discovery of a Bronze Age artifact in a German forest and how the artifact was recovered from the grave robbers who uncovered it. The nine-part series of videos, each around five minutes long, also tells the significance of the small metal disc the tomb raiders uncovered. Key quote: “It’s the find of a lifetime. Indeed, the find of several lifetimes.” Does this small metal object prove civilization arrived in Europe 3600 years ago?
In today’s maverick science news: Professor Gordon S. “Grover” Krantz was a teacher of osteology, the study of bones, at Washington State University. He was also an avid Bigfoot investigator, often featured in television documentaries about the legendary creature. The Smithsonian National Museum has become Krantz’s final resting place, just as he requested, and the recreation of the skeletons of Krantz and his beloved wolfhound Clyde, are now on exhibit. Meanwhile, another type of immortality is envisioned in Freezing Lazarus: The Cryonics of Eternal Life. H.C.R. No. 50 - On February 17th 2009 Representatives Brandon Creighton, Brian Hughes, and Leo Berman introduced HCR 50 into the 81st Legislature of the Texas Government.
Affirming that the State of Texas claims sovereignty under the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States over all powers not otherwise enumerated and granted to the federal government by the U.S. Constitution, serving notice to the federal government to cease and desist certain mandates, and providing that certain federal legislation be prohibited or repealed.
“I support Texas reasserting it’s rights under the 10th Amendment of the US Constitution. Please support HCR 50 introduced February 17, 2009 by Representatives Creighton, Hughes, and Berman. Many other states have introduced similar legislation including Oklahoma, Arizona, Hawaii, New Hampshire, and Washington. Many of us believe that our gun rights are at stake, martial law is an eminent threat, and the Real ID is unconstitutional. Please support this bill and get it passed into the Texas Legislature.”
“Chicago Mayor Daley has stated that if his Olympic dreams come true, by 2016 there will be a surveillance camera on ‘every street corner in Chicago.’ Just like in London, elected officials all over America appear to be happily advancing a ’surveillance society’ without regard for civil rights or privacy concerns. Ray Orozco, executive director of Chicago’s Office of Emergency Management and Communications is quoted as saying, ‘We’re going to grow the system until we eventually cover one end of the city to the other.’”
“Chicago has been developing its surveillance network for some time, but it seems they plan to continue increasing the scale.”
